Aloe Vera is an Antioxidant: Aloe Vera is an antioxidant which is essential to protect against free radicals and for a healthy metabolism. These form when a molecule looses an electron as a result of the normal metabolism which occurs as food and oxygen are turned into energy. In large numbers these highly-charged moleculer fragments can weaken the immune system which fights infection and resists degenerative changes. Viral infections, stress, pollution or simply growing older are all triggers.
Aloe Vera contains naturally occuring antioxidants in the form of vitamins B complex, C and E. plus beta-carotene which the body converts into vitamin A . Other nutrients include potassium, calcium, magnesium, zinc, manganese, chromium and sodium which are all essential for maintaining a healthy metabolism.
Anti-inflammatory: Aloe Vera is anti-inflammatory. Inflammation is the bodies way of responding to toxins, injury and infection. The plant steroids in Aloe Vera can relieve inflammation, help to regenerate new cells and disperse damaged tissue without unsightly scarring.
Rate of use: For average size horses that are recovering or run down, use just 25mls of Aloe Vera Juice twice daily. After seven days reduce to 15-20mls twice daily. For general maintenance feed 25mls daily.
The Gut: It is generally known that Aloe can help with gut problems, helping the bowel lining to regenerate and improve immune response.
Seasons: Ideal for all seasons Aloe Vera Juice used in winter when grazing is much scarcer and the nutritional value found in summer grasses and green leaf plants are reduced. Also in summer when peak condition is required especially for showing and competition.
Safety Data: Our Aloe Vera does not contain whole leaf. We believe there is little nutritional value in the fibrous part of the plant.
